LAMBS is a “heartache project” out of Oakland, CA. With influences such as Les Paul & Mary Ford, Takeshi Terauchi, Nat King Cole, Peggy Lee, The Beach Boys, The Ink Spots, and Anita O’Day, LAMBS writes traditional Jazz standards and swallows them in a sea of surf-rock. Their songwriter, Kate Smeal, is Berklee College of Music alumni. Majoring in jazz voice, Smeal left Boston in 2010 with her then band, Mornin’ Old Sport. After recording her first full-length with MOS under Misery Loves Co. Records and touring the U.S. for months, the band decided to amicably call it quits in order to pursue personal musical endeavors in 2013. Since then, Smeal has been focused on nothing but writing her first non-collaborative album and the manifestation of LAMBS. In January 2015 the band plans on recording their first full-length album, live to tape, in a church in San Francisco. You can check out videos and bedroom recordings on their website-http://www.læms.com

Cedarwaxwing is the solo project of bay area instrument builder Patrick Roth that explores merging landscapes of live music concrète, electronic dance music and traditional songwriting. His shamasencajonlocomotive inspired instrument "Syrinx" lies at the center of the project and is capable of producing evocative and gigantic sounds that bring to mind the work of John Cage, Scott Walker, This Heat and Sigur Ros. Being classically trained himself, Roth contributes his romantic sensibilities to an otherwise harshly metallic medium and the result is a form that feels highly familiar while appearing completely foreign.
