Justin Ancheta and Maren Metke of Honey of the Heart and Adrienne Shamszad have teamed up (with other musical guests) to bring to you bold harmonies, deep lyrics and intricate arrangements on originals and their favorite world-folk covers.  Be warmed by sweet and unexpected music as we bring in the Persian New Year together.  This will be a night filled with moving compositions and unrepentant spontaneity! 



Honey Of The Heart

Internationally acclaimed touring musician Justin Ancheta is a guitarist, vocalist, and composer, recently joined forces for performances with the amazing Maren Metke, who is a vocalist/songwriter/pianist from the PNW/Sierra foothills. A new combination, they have released an EP, and plan to create more in the coming weeks (including a live at CTFA album from their Rising Appalachia show), demonstrating their strong connection in spirit.

They were featured at Prana Festival 2014, opened for Rising Appalachia on their fall 2014 tour, have produced 2 EP's in summer and Fall 2014, and have been performing and composing almost non stop since the inception of their project in Spring 2014.

Adrienne Shamszad

Adrienne Shamszad is a singer­songwriter known for her special blend of folk, soul, blues and Eastern influenced improvisational vocals. Her lyrics are poetic and blunt, intimate and relatable; inspired by the mystic Poets of Iran as equally as the folk poet­songwriters of the 60s and 70s. She has been entertaining the West Coast with her bold and passionate voice, poignant and catchy songs, intricate guitar work and her playful, fun performance style for over 10 years. 

Adrienne is an Oakland native with a background in theater and engaging performer with a mission to lighten and brighten the world with honest and authentic music. Her Persian heritage and musical study, along with her years of traveling and singing throughout India are threads that weave undeniably through all her melodies and improvisations.

She performs and collaborates with more well­known artists and visionaries such as Coleman Barks, Rob Brezsny and the group SOVOSO. Adrienne has recorded one full­length studio album, multiple demos and is currently recording new work to be released in the summer of 2015.
