Vadalma (“Wild Apple”) is a collaborative project led by Zina Bozzay with Matthew Szemela and Misha Khalikulov that explores vibrant, intimate arrangements of old Hungarian folk songs. Singing songs directly from village traditions in Transylvania, Moldavia, Transdanubia, and other parts of the Carpathian Basin, the musicians integrate both traditional and their own handmade accompaniment to frame these rich melodies.

To have "La Pêche" is French for being in a particularly good mood and great form; and that's what the quartet immediately conveys with their furiously fun blend of Balkan-inspired melodies. Combining a solid foot in traditional musics from Romania to Turkey with funkier grooves and heavy bass lines, the band has created a highly unique and energetic sound. On April 19th at Studio Grand, La Peche will introduce its new project of Romanian music.
