Join us for an eclectic mix of original music with local singer songwriters Tracy Sirota and Oliver Jacobson.

Tracy Sirota

Tracy Sirota is a San Francisco singer-songwriter known for her sultry, soulful voice and her unique brand of indie rock. Her eclectic music crosses a wide range of genres, fusing American folk rock, blues, Latin and reggae into her own smooth and distinctive sound.

Tracy’s first band, The Hillaries, formed in the late ’90s and included well-known Bay Area musicians Moose Letheridge, Sal Bednarz and Mike Neighbor. The group’s debut album, Flowers, was released in 1999. Following The Hillaries, Tracy played the local cafe scene, both as a solo performer and in collaboration with other artists. These gigs evolved into another rock band, the Monkey Ranchhands, which performed around the Bay Area from 2001-2004.

In 2005, Tracy lived briefly in Mexico, where she was deeply moved by Latin culture and music. When she returned to the Bay Area, she sat in with local salsa bands, eventually joining Orquesta Callao as a backup vocalist. She later became lead singer for Seis de Montuno, led by Grammy Award winning trumpeter Julius Melendez. After she left Seis de Montuno, she took a break from music to focus on her nursing career and starting a family.

In 2015, Tracy returned to her singer-songwriter roots and began recording her first solo studio album, Ready For Love, which was released a year later. The album explores the theme of love through a variety of musical styles and rhythms and through Tracy’s raw, soul-searching lyrics. Joining Tracy on the dazzling record are world-class artists such as Grammy award winning percussionists Karl Perazzo of Santana, Omar Ledezma and Javier Cabanillas, Grammy award winning arranger and producer Christian Tumalan and Grammy nominated guitarist Camilo Landau, among other accomplished musicians. The result is a highly original body of work that could have been a collaboration between Gloria Estefan and Joni Mitchell.
