Join us for the latest edition of Studio Grand's Balkan Nights. This series, featuring (not-so-strictly) Eastern European music, occurs on the third Friday of the month. The night is graciously curated by Kent Kessinger in association with Studio Grand. This month, we turn East towards the Levant with an extended set by Levoná, featuring musicians from Israel and Syria as well the US.

{Please note we're starting a little later this month -- doors open at 9:30pm and music starts at 10:00.}

Levoná

Levoná is a mix of popular musicians from the Bay Area world music scene. The ensemble met as the house band for the highly acclaimed musical “Love Sick”, winning the Theatre Bay Area Award for “Best Ensemble” along with the cast in October 2017. Master musicians from Syria, Israel, and the United States come together to weave a rich tapestry of sounds that is at once a taste of the orient, and a new creation all on its own - the kind of energy that only comes when distant cultures overlap. The music is intermingled with stories, both traditional and original, to create a truly unique experience. Come out and have some fun with us!
