Oakland Freedom Jazz Society Presents...
Full Moon Heart
"I will be presenting the double trio version of Full Moon Heart, a project of mine that mixes poetry and music. I am very pleased to announce - pianist Noam Lemish will be in from Toronto and featured on piano. Noam is a long time friend and collaborator from our days in Sonoma. The rest of the band is made up of wonderful Bay Area improvisers." -- Miles Wick
Kasey Knudsen - saxophone
Robert Lopez - drums & percussion
Jordan Glenn - drums & percussion
Jason Hoopes - electric bass
Noam Lemish - piano
Miles Wick - acoustic bass, voice
Monaco/Frioriksdottir/Brehmer Trio
“This performance deals with the interplay of giving and taking space, specifically pertaining to women. We are enacting this concept of vocal visibility through the presence of a fragmented narrative and its relationship to outside control.”
Honor Monaco - violin
Ingibjörg Friðriksdóttir - electronics and voice
Kirsten Brehmer - speaker
Richter & Fluke-Mogul Duo
Ben Richter - accordion
Gabby Fluke-Mogul - (experimental) accordion
"Ben Richter's Panthalassa: Dream Music of the Once and Future Ocean transforms prepared microtonal accordion into the voice of the primordial Earth-wide ocean, conjuring alien worlds with shimmering just-intonation harmonies and sliding, moaning melodies that zoom in and out of the droning sonic abyss."
DOORS 9:00 PM; SHOW 9:30 PM
$7-15 sliding scale
