Oakland Freedom Jazz Society & Jakob Pek Present: Acoustic Medicine CD Release
Tonight we celebrate the release of Jakob Pek's latest album, Acoustic Medicine, a "stunningly beautiful meditation in five seamless movements that steep the listener in sun-soaked, speechless bliss." (Music-News.com) The night opens with a set by Annie May Willis, followed by Jakob Pek. The two will also be collaborating on a number of songs. Come out for this special evening of music!
Jakob Pek is an artist and multi-instrumentalist based in Oakland, CA. His work has been described as "transhistorical" and "a force of nature". Tonight he will be sharing a selection of work from his most recent album, Acoustic Medicine, a work that "treats you to a view from another realm and places you back in the here and now like a feather drifting back to the ground." Annie May Willis
Annie May Willis is a singer/songwriter living in the Bay Area. She is classically trained in the violin, but these days writes songs with her classical guitar. Her first album, Steady On, came out in 2015. Annie's music "manages to capture the most vulnerable of human emotions while shining a light through with her lyrics to send the listener a message of hope." She is currently working on a new album, This Love, set for release in the coming months.

Oakland Freedom Jazz Society takes place every Monday night at Studio Grand. Lineups feature avant-jazz, experimental and noise performances by local and touring musicians and multimedia artists.
