Bay Area stalwart drummers/percussionists/improvisers Jordan Glenn and Hamir Atwal join forces with saxophonist and former Oakland resident Matt Nelson, visiting from Brooklyn, NY. While all three have intertwining musical histories reaching back over a decade and spanning several bands and projects, this will be the first appearance of this unique configuration.
gabby fluke-mogul is a violinist, improviser, composer, & educator living in Oakland, CA. gabby explores the depths, infinite sounds, hues, & multitudinous voices of the acoustic violin. gabby believes in the power of listening, improvisation, babies, children, & kindness. gfm performs with a variety of ensembles & collaborative projects in addition to facilitating community-based workshops & teaching (toddlers-adults) in public, private, & non-profit learning spaces.
Oboist and electronic musician Kyle Bruckmann tramples genre boundaries in widely ranging work as a composer/performer, improviser, orchestral free-lancer and new music specialist. He is a member of sfSound, San Francisco Contemporary Music Players, Eco Ensemble, Splinter Reeds and Quinteto Latino, and remains active within an international community of improvisers and sound artists. His most significant projects as bandleader or collaborator have included Degradient, EKG, Lozenge, and Wrack.
Jacob Felix Heule is an improvising percussionist with a special interest in friction techniques. His music is shaped by intuition, listening, and following where the sounds lead. He embraces limited instrumentation - like a single drum and a single cymbal - as a commitment to exploring the depth of his instruments.
