Oakland Freedom Jazz Society Presents:
Pinbokeh is a trio based out of Oakland, CA that explores lush textures and soundscapes. A collection of unmetered rhythms and stretched out harmonic patterns create pieces that are reminiscent of the Nels Cline Singers with the still ambiance of Ryuichi Sakamoto and Grouper. With each member of the group coming from rock, jazz, and contemporary classical backgrounds, Pinbokeh’s music renders varied influences and forms into their work.
The trio is composed of Nathan Chamberlain (guitar), Josiah Branaman (bass), and Paul Sakai (percussion).
Michael Masaru Flora (solo)
Michael Flora is a Minneapolis based sound artist. His interest is in the exploration of sound via research and artistic practice. Through performance, installation, and recording he creates pieces that examine sonic morphology, spatialization, and human perception.
RM Francis (solo)
RM Francis is a computer musician living in Seattle.
